Logo

I am going to start designing my version of the logo the other boys have also done this. I hopefully going to try something that goes with the name of the game come at me square bro' so something square but simple.
This is my logo so far I have added the colours on the font because that will represent the square blocks as those are the colours I used for the example of the game with it's background. My background looks like this before I forget to upload all this, I did the background with the example of the game. It is a very simple background but I think it shows what it is.
This is now my logo so far as I have just explained it up there ^^ I chose a black background because I couldn't see it's name of the game because the colours blended too much with the orginal background colour which was white.
I have now copied in the robot which is the gun in other words I mainly used the paint bucket tool and for the last one I used the colour panel on the right corner and highlighted eash word and then clicked the colour I needed I will show the all the tools I used after I finished my logo. As you can see I added the robots.
I am now going to add the shapes on each side oppasite the robots because my vision is going to be that some sort of lazer will come from the robot and shoot at my square boxes. It will be same colour block aas my examples I think because that was the colour I saved it as but I might have the colours red and pink. This is what I have just done too.
I am now going to try and add something that looks like a lazer so that then it looks like the robot is shooting at my square blocks. I want to use the colour red but because I have alread used that colour I think I will use the next lazer sort of colour and I would say that, that is going to be green. As I said before I will show you what tools I used when I have finished with my logo and hopefully this is my last edit unless I get some more ideas.
I am now going to use the smudge tool to make the lazers look as if they are glowing. I will once again uloaf the finished image and then go on to the tools I have used.
This is my finished Logo I am now going to go on to what tools I used. I want to say although my lazers may not look as if they are glowing I think I got close enough because the bur tool I tried to use didn't work to how I wanted it too. Anyway to the tools I used were Smudge Tool, Paint Bucket Tool, Line Tool, The Colour Palet Tool. Cropping Tool, Type Tool, Shape Tool (circle and squares) I am now going to upload all the tools I have used to show you I know what the tools are.
These are all the tools I used for making my logo. I have now finished my game and all the blogs I have done shows what I have done over the past few weeks to get to  this stage. I tried to make it simple so that you understand my game so it was hard with what I could do and tried hard to finish at my deadline. I hope to point of my game is obvious and understandable to play. I enjoyed making this game because I learnt how to use PhotoShop or at least be a bit more confident using PhotoShop. Other things I used were things like Word, Publisher, Paint and Paint.NET because I occationally had trouble trying crop my image or copy it on so I would cheat a little but that was at the beginning when I was trying to find my feet at using PhotoShop.

Making my own background part 2

I have used a custom tool again but made the shape of something like the sun so I will hopefully use the smudge tool again on that shape to hopefully get that into more of planet or as I said sun because I have used all different colours to maybe make it work more too. These colours are Yellow, Orange and Red. I have uploaded the entire picture once again so it shows the picture and the tool. I will also upload the shape tool I used to make this shape so it makes it obvious how I did it.

The shape I used to create my sun is called the seal. I am now going to smudge my shape so it looks like it is producing heat or moving really fast like the shapes will hopefully do as you move up in your levels.
I am not going to show the smudge tool this time as I have already shown that I used it on my last blog. I have tried to make it look like it is spinning or just like I said producing heat to be honest t doesn't whether it is moving or producing heat because it looks effective anyway.
At some point place my gun in the middle of the screen and I will also add a few of the enemies in this too.

I have now started placing the gun in the middle, I have now just realised how to resize the shape so I will show that tool in a second too.

This is the tool I used and it was a cropping tool called slice tool and does what it is named basically. I am now going to add the enemies to my background and I will upload the picture later of what I have done and I will try and get that done in this lesson. I have now finished my background. I mainly used the colour tool so I could colour my shapes in and this shows the shapes rotating I used the shapes that were the most obvious to show it was rotating as it is hard to show it with the other shapes I created

Making my own background

To start off I am using the tool Paint Bucket to get my black background this is my evidance. I will tell you other tools I used as I move along with creating more images to make my background look more like space.
This is my background so far I will printscreen my evidance as I progress with my levels background. At the moment my background is just black simply because I want to start off simple. I am planning on adding some sort of planet and adding stars to the black background. I will also add the ball which is the gun for the game in the middle as well as the enemies moving closer together toward the gun.

I am now using the elipse tool so I can try and make it look like a force feild so now it is a black with blue on the bottom rounding up. I am also showing my background with what tool I used because cropping it without the background would show the background too.

I have now used the smudging tool so that I can now blend the blue in with the black although you can't see that well you will be able to by the end of my finished edit on my background. This is my evidance of the tool I used now I am going to upload my background once again what I have done so far.
This is my sumdged background so far. I am going to make another post now to show more of my changes.

How the game will work(including one level)

At the moment I now have the background on one of the levels, I am soon going add the shapes and the gun which is stationary in the middle of the screen and will then put it onto the background and hopefully it will be clear enough on how the game will work.
At the moment I am trying to figure out how to put the images all together on one page if I do not manage it in this lesson I will work on it again next lesson

My Final Shape

These are my final shapes for this game. I used the same colours as the last shapes I did with the spuares and rectangle. My only problem is, is that I can't really rotate these shapes as it won't really be obvious what is going on. I am trying to focus on what people have said I could change. To make these shapes I used the custom shape tool.

What I will change due to the feedback 2

This image shows that there are 2 different shapes, but the rectangle I show here was orginally going to rotate and they show that. I am once again going to change that back to that and now the rectangles are rotating and how I placed it shows that. The other shapes I did will rotate but I think the only problem would be that you can see them rotating. I hope this is obviouse to see, if not I will once again make some more changes to make that more obvious.

The things I used to make these shapes were:
The things I used to colour my shapes were:
I think with these shapes of shapes you can really rotate in an obvious way

What I will change due to the feedback

The feedback that I thought was a good a idea was the one about the rotation, I was at first going to have it rotating but decided it would be hard but I will deffinatly do that now. I will lower the colour as I also do not want to shapes to be too bright. I will take all the feedback into account and try my best to change what people thought I should change.

Upgrades number 2

This is my first idea I had for the enemys, it took me a while to manage to get it up on my site.  The shapes as they move will hopefully change colour as they move across your screen. It took me while to decide how to do it. I am also working on the other shapes as we have decided to add more shapes to it. At the moment I am adding colour to it so that I do not lose the idea of of it changing colour as it moves. As you can see in the photo I added it has different shapes and different colours as it would progress in movement. This is my most recent update of the shapes.

Upgrades

I am now going to make a few changes due to a few ideas people gave me. For example I am going to change the sizes of a few of the shapes so that then the game can different types of blocks. I have started making polygons I am hopefully going to make them different sizes once again as I am going to do with the other shapes.

Designing the Enemy

I am going to describe what the enemy's are going to look like. Basically they are going to be square blocks that change colour. I am going to use bright colours like Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, Red and a lighter Blue so that the colours are able to blend properly. I have now designed the enemy's and I am now going to upload them onto this post. I have just tried to upload the picture but it came up with error so I will do it next time I am on this.

What I have done today 2/11/2011

Today I have started making the Squares, they are all going to be different colours. I have had to do this on paint.
I have also been working more on my proposal and will be putting more of it up when I am done for this lesson. This is my proposal:
The audience is going to be teenagers because you find that it is most teenagers play games like these on the internet.
The storyline is going to be a big ball in the middle of the luna rover, with monitors in it. In the year 2077 a meteorite hits the moon and destroys the rover. Small bits of the rover drift through space. The large monitor ball hurtles toward a black hole. As it is being distorted it gains the ability to shoot lasers from its lens and think for itself. Once in its new strange universe it realises the occupant are evil strange square beings. It now has a mission to destroy these before it and its own world are annihilated.
The animation is going to be Comic and Fantasy because the game is basically a comical fantasy and it’s not real. The genre of the game is an arcade shooter game for everyone but a more up to date game rather than some of the older ones they made. The game won’t be really educational it’ll be more of a game just for fun and take you back to the older versions or at least remind you of them.
The idea’s I put across and other people in my group put across were the square blocks and other blocks as the enemies. The boys in my group decided it would be a good idea to add nyan cat I’m not sure why. We are still working on the background music and whether there will actually be any but I think it will work better with music. Tom has some of the ideas we are doing on his blog and I think Chris does too. The backgrounds will change due to what level you are on so that then you are not looking at the same thing and getting bored because also the blocks will change too in size and colour also the blocks.

The making of Come at me Square Bro'

To start off, I have started making the proposal and the storyline even though the group I am in have also done a storyline of some sort.
The name of the game is Come at me Square Bro'
